We have
had a busy first week back to school for Term2.
We
welcomed Leo to our class on Monday. He
has settled in extremely well to the Room16 way of life! On Tuesday we went to the New Zealand
Playhouse version of “The Fairest in the Land”.
It was an extremely well presented play full of laughs that brought
traditional Fairy tales to current times with Snow White struggling with over
exposure on Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat!
The show included an ‘internet troll’ (an actual goat eating troll) and
a ‘trojan horse’ horse that hacked Snow Whites accounts! The show was very funny and enjoyed by all,
from the little Year 1’s right through to the teachers and support staff!
We are
building up to our school cross country to be held on Wednesday 18th
May, 1.00pm to 2.45pm. Please come and
support us. We are adding all our daily fitness runs together to see how far up
the country we can get to before the event.
We have so far collectively clocked up about 138km.
Thursday afternoon saw the whole school out on the field enjoying the great weather and participating in some fun events organised by the wonderful YouthTown Sports crew as a launch for our new Inquiry -"Fuelled 4 Life!" The focus is on putting healthy stuff into our bodies so that we can get the best out of ourselves.
It was an awesome afternoon with the senior students helping out the younger children in their House groups. Go Kowhai!
